In the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa, Zimbabwe faced Australia in their group stage match at Cape Town. In this match, Australia just posted 138/9 in 20 overs after batting first. Brad Hodge was the highest scorer, scoring 35 runs. While Andrew Symonds scored 33 runs. For Zimbabwe, Elton Chigumbura took 3 wickets, and Gary Brent took 2 wickets. Despite Australia’s low score, no one predicted that Australia would lose that match. However, Zimbabwe chased the target in 19.5 overs with 5 wickets in hand. 2. ZIM vs IRE, Hobart, 2022
Zimbabwe’s second victory came against a full-member side during the T20 World Cup 2022. This was the first round match between the two teams. Zimbabwe posted a mammoth total of 174/7 in 20 overs, after being invited to bat first. Sikandar Raza scored a brilliant 82 runs innings, including 5 fours and 5 sixes. For Ireland, Josh Little took 3 wickets while Mark Adair and Simi Singh grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, Ireland reached to just 143 runs.
3. ZIM vs PAK, Perth, 2022
In the 2022 World Cup, Zimbabwe topped the group stage and qualified for the Super 12, and during that time, the team faced Pakistan. Zimbabwe batted first in that match and scored only 130 runs. For Pakistan, Imad Wasim took 4 wickets, and Shadab Khan took 3 wickets. It seemed that Pakistan would win this match easily, but Pakistan's batsmen looked under pressure from the beginning and lost the match, which went till the last ball, by 1 run. For Zimbabwe, Sikanadar Raza took the maximum number of 3 wickets.
4. ZIM vs AUS, Colombo RPS, 2026
Zimbabwe faced Australia once again in the recently ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. This was the second encounter between the two teams in the T20 World Cup. In this match, Australia won the toss and invited Zimbabwe to bat first. Zimbabwe scored 169 runs at the loss of just 2 wickets. Opener Brian Bennett scored the highest 64 runs. Cameron Green and Marcus Stoinis took 1 wicket each for Australia. Chasing this target, Australia had a bad start, and the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite Matt Renshaw's 65-run innings, Australia were all out for just 146 runs, and Zimbabwe won the match by 23 runs. With this, Zimbabwe maintained their unbeaten record against Australia in T20 World Cup history.
5. ZIM Vs SL, Colombo RPS, 2026*
Zimbabwe recently created history by defeating Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup at their home ground. Both teams clashed in the 36th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Premdasa Stadium. In this match, Zimbabwe won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 178 runs. Pathum Nissanka scored the highest 62 runs. But Zimbabwe won the match by 8 wickets thanks to Brian Bennett's unbeaten 63 and Sikandar Raza's 46 runs.
