The 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards gives students a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and daily functions of a security guard, expanding on what is covered in the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course. This training is taken after completing the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment and is required to finish your New York State security guard certification.

The course fee is $110 and is held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM over two days. Throughout the training, students learn essential job-related topics, including:

Role and responsibilities of a security guard

Legal powers and limitations

Responding to emergency situations

Effective communication and public relations

Access control procedures

Professional ethics and conduct

Incident management

Command system overview

Terrorism awareness and prevention

Students must attend both days online via Zoom and provide a state-issued ID along with proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation). An exam is administered on the second day, and a minimum score of 70% is required to pass. Upon successful completion, KTI will issue an official certificate of completion.
